MEET THE STARS - Scott Kirby & Friends
SCOTT KIRBY: Scott Kirby is—as he readily admits—lucky enough. "Lucky Enough" is his song you have heard countless times on Radio Margaritaville. In 1988 Scott traded his native New Hampshire for a life in Key West. Since then Scott has shared the stage with some of his favorite artists: Carole King, Jimmy Buffett, Livingston Taylor, Tom Rush, Mac McAnally, Peter Mayer and others.
Scott now owns the highly acclaimed Smokin' Tuna Saloon in Key West, home to the annual Key West Songwriters' Festival. Scott tours extensively annually.
STEVE HUNTINGTON: What a long legendary radio career Steve has enjoyed. Beginning in the Northeast and migrating to South Florida for WHSE and Love 94 before joining Jimmy Buffett to start Radio Margaritaville. Steve was the original DJ and Program Director for Radio Margaritaville.
Today Steve spreads his love of all things music through his Podcast heard weekly on Radio Margaritaville. Steve will serve as MC for this original event. Steve is intimately tied to all of these performers which will make his interviews with them incredibly enlightening. Don't miss Steve at Rock The Tropics!
RENEE ADAMS: You listen to Renee Adams regularly on Radio Margaritaville. Now you can meet and hang out with her in person at Rock The Tropics. Renee will be our valued host for this event.
You never know where Renee will show up. One minute she's in Nashville, the next in Key West for an intimae Jimmy Buffett show, and of course Renee is the Queen of Orlando. And now we know she will be in Mexico for Rock The Tropics. BENDAN MAYER: Quickly gaining attention as a singer and songwriter, the son of Peter Mayer, is a long-time Nashville resident, has shared the stage with Jimmy Buffett & The coral Reefers during a four show run at the famous La Cigale in Paris. In 2014 Brendan released his debut album, The Getaway Car EP, on Mailboat Records.
Recently, he and his father have collaborated to release their first album together under the Peter Mayer/Brendan Mayer name — “Long Story Short” — which has received extensive airplay on Sirius/XM Radio. In addition, Brendan has released a new single of his own — “The American”. He is also a member of the band Floating Collective.
JOHN FRINZI: Yes, you have heard John throughout the years on Radio Margaritaville with his hit Shoreline among many others. John is a favorite among Parrot Heads. Makes sense since John has shared the stage with the Coral Reefers, Mac McAnally as well as Jesse Winchester, Maria Muldaur and others. Expect to see John join forces with Scott Kirby and the rest of our stellar lineup.
John has been a frequent guest on Steve Huntington's podcast and will be again leading up to Rock The Tropics. Steve will also host a Q & A with John for those who attend Rock The Tropics. Don't miss John Frinzi.
ERIC ERDMAN: This music prodigy began writing songs at the tender age of 8, on the end of a Mobile Bay pier. His music endeavors led Eric to a writing job in Muscle Shoals legendary Fame Studios. This experience has led Eric to being an in demand producer today for many artists.
Versatility has proved valuable to Eric as he is able to write and perform songs that fall into multiple genres. If you visit Eric's website he writes and performs a new song every Friday.
